- Dual eSIM: iPhone 13 series and newer support two active eSIMs simultaneously.
- eSIM-only (USA): iPhone 14, 15, 16 and 17 US models have no physical SIM tray — eSIM only.
- eSIM-only (worldwide): iPhone 17 Air has no physical SIM tray in any country — the first iPhone to do this globally.
- Mainland China: Most iPhone models do not support eSIM in China. Only the iPhone 17e and iPhone 17 Air support eSIM in mainland China.
- Hong Kong & Macao: Most models use Dual SIM with two nano-SIM cards instead of eSIM.
